Walk Alton has been advised to encourage walkers to avoid the Binswood area for the time being, as reports come in of aggressive behaviour from a local resident.
The trouble spot is at the edge of Binswood on the path from King John's Hill shown here with a red oval, and forms part of the West Worldham Loop described on our routes page.

Regular visitors to the area will know this has been a problem in the past. Walk Alton has contacted the police. Whilst they are aware of the problems the individual is causing they have no evidential proof to enable them to take any action.
The advice that they have given is as follows:
Avoid the particular path if possible
If unavoidable, and it is a Public Right of Way, then walk quietly by and don’t antagonise or get into an argument with the individual.
If possible, have your mobile phone in your pocket already switched on to ‘record' so that you can capture any altercations, and then pass them directly to the Police. If safe to do so, record a video too, and report the incident and pass the recordings to the Police.
Always call 101 or 999 if you need Police support.
