Weston Common to Weston Patrick

A circular walk from Weston Common (Forestry Commission) via Weston Patrick. Parking is available at the entrance to Weston Common or over the road at Avenue Nurseries.

Follow the bridleway to the left of the entrance to Humbly Grove Oilfield. The track goes very gently downhill, continue straight on (North) past a Restricted Byway to the left.

Continue straight on until you join a gravel farm track, turn right and continue under or round a tall gate until you reach a road.

Turn right and walk along the road for approximately 200m. When you reach a blue metal gate on your right turn right and follow the path uphill along the edge of the field. Watch out for a path on your left leading down a small slope to join a bridleway.

Turn right on to the bridleway and follow it straight ahead uphill until you emerge on to a farm track.

Follow the farm track straight ahead. When the track bends to the right head straight on and follow the way marker along a grassy/muddy bridle way (Long Lane).

Continue South East on Long Lane through undulating terrain, the track then drops down hill where you re enter the woodland of Weston Common.

Follow the track into the woodland alongside a garden fence. At the end of the fence is a path/track junction, turn right and follow the path South West along the route of the 'Park Pale'.

Follow the path gently up hill until it joins a stony forest track, turn right and continue to the car park at the entrance to Humbly Grove Oilfield.
