This is one of 3 circular walks starting and finishing at The Three Horseshoes Pub in East Worldham. The number 13 bus runs hourly from Alton to Bordon, and stops just south of the Pub. The pub has a carpark and encourages walkers to enjoy the walks and then visit for some refreshments afterwards.

 1

Leave the front of the pub and walk eastward along the pavement, turn right and ascend steps to cross a stile into a large field.

 2

Cross this stile and another soon afterwards. Follow a narrow path between a fence and a hedge. At the end, bear right and walk towards a barn

 3

Pass by the gate and bear left onto a grassy track alongside a fence. Continue on to a path leading into a large field.

 4

Cross a couple of fields and then over a plank bridge. Keep ahead and climb slightly towards the lane, cross this stile and turn right along the road.

 5

Bear left at the crossroads and continue along the road until you reach the entrance to Water Lane (waymarked Writers' Way) on your right.

 6

After a short distance bear right to take the righthand track that runs parallel to Water Lane. Follow this downhill with views of Alton ahead. After approximately 1km/0.75 mile turn right on to a twisting path leading into the golf course.

 7

Walk round the end of the golf course, avoid a deep channel and head for a gap in the hedge with a waymark. Follow a faint path and head for the right hand end of the hedge ahead.

 8

Pass a waymark and head northeast across the large fields. When you reach the road bear right and follow a permissive path to reach Clays Lane. Cross the main road with care and walk along the lane. After a short distance take a right turn into Shelley’s Lane and walk back to the pub.
