Spring has arrived around Hampshire, and with it comes one of the most beautiful sights of the year – carpets of bluebells in our local woodlands.

During April, several of the self-guided walks on the Walk Alton website pass through areas where bluebells are full bloom. It’s a wonderful time to explore the countryside, whether you’re looking for a short stroll or a longer countryside walk.

We’ve highlighted a selection of Bluebell Walks on our website to help you make the most of the season. Each walk includes clear directions and a downloadable route, so you can explore at your own pace. Look out for the bluebell picture when you're browsing our routes, or click through to the walks below:

·       Ackender Woods

·       Chawton Woods

·       Medstead East

·       Micheldever Woods

Expect peaceful woodland paths, fresh spring greenery, birdsong, and of course the stunning bluebell displays that make this time of year so special.

Choose the walk that suits you:

  • Short, easy woodland walks

  • Moderate circular routes through fields and woods

  • Longer countryside walks for those wanting a bigger adventure

Bluebells only flower for a short time, so April is the perfect moment to get out and enjoy them.
