A group of local women regularly walk on a Saturday morning. On 26 October we will be doing a 5 mile/2 hour circular walk from Upper Farringdon via Newton Valence and Selborne Common (start time 09.15). On 16 October at 7pm Walk Alton are organising meeting to discuss the benefits of walking for all aspects of our wellbeing, social, mental and physical health. Did you know that on 1 January 2026, pathways and bridleways not shown on the Definitive Map will be lost forever ? The Alton Ramblers have formed a small group engaged in discovering and recording Rights of Way (ROW) that are not currently shown on the Definitive Map. If you enjoy looking at old maps, walking in the countryside and a bit of detective work, why not join in with this important quest.
