Guided Town Walks

All guided town walks are cancelled until further notice due too coronavirus. Monthly guided walks take place around Alton to learn more about its history and points of interest. We are a group of local women of all ages and interests who meet for a country walk (4-5 miles/2 hours) once a month. Sadly all forthcoming walks have been cancelled due to coronavirus. Did you know that on 1 January 2026, pathways and bridleways not shown on the Definitive Map will be lost forever ? The Alton Ramblers have formed a small group engaged in discovering and recording Rights of Way (ROW) that are not currently shown on the Definitive Map. If you enjoy looking at old maps, walking in the countryside and a bit of detective work, why not join in with this important quest.
